Wow, where do I start? Well Pikes Place Market of course, since this was close to home base. Pikes Place Market was pretty overwhelming. Full of shops and tourists, it was a central hub of everything going on in the mid town area of Seattle. I was impressed with the layout and you could really feel the history of the market walking the labyrinth of shops. I got some advice from Sam at the hostel to go check out the botanical garden so I bused up there to walk around and see all the blooming flowers. Enjoyed a nice DIY lunch and then hit up Capital Hill district. I ran into a legalization march which was fun and goofy at the same time. Capital hill also has one of the best views of Seattle on top of the old water tower. The next day I went to catch a Mariners game and walked through Pioneer Square to get to the stadium. Very pretty brick sections of town with a lot of pedestrian walking.
The following day I went up to Ballard to see the Locks and Fremont for the cool shops and art. Both places were amazing and I had a blast checking out all of the cool art structures popping up around the outskirts of town.
Finallyl I rented a car and drove up north to Deception Pass. I spent the day hiking around Goose Head island and saw some amazing views. Later that day I met some locals at a bar back in Seattle and we bar hopped around Capital Hill and then I said goodbye to Seattle and went to Vancouver.
*warning, lots of pictures!*
