Here are some pictures from the Yelp! Hot Chicken Takeover at the Near East Side Community Cooperative. Joe was out in full force with a very efficient way of getting everyone their chicken in time. A big thanks to Bryant at Yelp! for putting this amazing event together. This time I opted for the Hot (instead of the hotter, Holy flavor) which felt like the perfect level of heat. Chatting with people around me it seemed to be a lot of first timers at the event. Joe gave a short and sweet speech about where he came form and why he created the Hot Chicken Takeover. He's open Weekends from noon until they run out. Yaourt Frozen Yogurt was also there showing off their delicious REAL frozen yogurt. I'll definitely have to check them out in Dublin.
It's back! Joe the head fryer sent out invites to Hot Chicken Takeover and the group jumped on it. Just like last time you pick an hour block when you'll be picking up your chicken and we chose the 1-2pm slot. Joe makes an appearance out front to meet people in between batches of delicious hot (spicy) chicken. Shake his hand, ask him a few questions, he's really nice.
Well let's get on with it and show you the pictures. Another stellar event and I already can't wait for the next one. Sign up here to know when they're having their next take over.
The group went to the Near Eastside Coop to get a taste of a popup hot chicken event. Damn was it good. SOOO SPICY!
A group of us pregamed at Gooeyz after catching the early screening of a Taco Truck documentary. Check out the results below...
After the movie we hit up the actual taco truck that was featured in the movie. Om nom nom!
Kegs & Eggs - Went to Fado's to celebrate St Patricks day. Delicious food, good company.
Fundraiser for NPR - Had a blast with a meetup group going to Alana's Food and Wine. They served it community style where we passed around plates and took bits off each one. Delicious!
Okay so I had Bodega tacos twice in one week, sue me. But I learned that outside of the Taco Wednesday they're actually much larger and you get an extra side with chips.
